Landitec is attending Kielux 2026
On September 18 and 19, 2026, the open-source community will once again come together in Kiel. At the 24th Kiel Open Source and Linux Days – known as Kielux – developers, companies, IT professionals, open-source projects and Linux enthusiasts will meet to discuss current technologies, practical experiences and new ideas.
A meeting place for the open-source community
Kielux combines a professional conference, a community meeting and an exhibition. Its presentations and workshops are aimed at both newcomers and experienced Linux and open-source users. The programme is complemented by practical activities, personal discussions and opportunities to discover a wide range of projects and solutions on site.
The event begins with the Linux Presentation Day on September 17. The two main event days will follow on September 18 and 19 at the Kiel Innovation and Technology Centre. The presentations will also be broadcast online.
This combination of technical knowledge, practical use cases and direct communication makes Kielux a particularly valuable event for us.
Open source as the foundation of sovereign IT
For Landitec, open source is much more than a technological alternative. Open software creates transparency, enables flexible architectures and helps organisations reduce their long-term dependence on individual vendors and cloud platforms.
These principles are reflected in many of our solutions. Our scope7 appliances provide powerful hardware platforms for OPNsense, Proxmox and other open-source applications. Our DOMOS operating system combines a hardened Linux foundation with simple and controlled appliance management.
We also focus on openness and data sovereignty in the field of artificial intelligence. With meloki, organisations can operate modern AI applications locally on their own hardware. Language models, documents and sensitive business data remain within their own infrastructure.
Our topics at Kielux 2026
At Kielux, we will demonstrate how open-source technologies can be used professionally and reliably in business environments. Our key topics include:
- local and sovereign AI infrastructures with meloki
- powerful appliance hardware for open-source solutions
- secure and controllable Linux platforms
- virtualisation and network security with Proxmox and OPNsense
- the productive operation of container-based applications
- data sovereignty and reduced dependence on cloud platforms
Our focus is not limited to individual products. The decisive factor is the interaction between suitable hardware, a reliable operating system, open applications and a well-designed operational and support concept.
On-site with otris
We are especially excited to attend Kielux this year together with our partner otris. This will allow us to bring together different experiences and perspectives and discuss current requirements, specific application scenarios, and the future of robust IT solutions with visitors.
Kielux offers the ideal setting for this: open, practical, and with plenty of room for personal interaction.
Let’s exchange ideas
Kielux thrives on conversations, ideas, and open dialogue within the community. That’s exactly what we’re most looking forward to.
What open-source solutions are you already using? Where do you encounter challenges in your business operations? What role do local AI, Linux, containerization, or digital sovereignty play in your current projects?
We would like to share our experiences, explore new perspectives, and discuss together how open technologies can be implemented securely and in a practical way within companies.
